Method and sources
Source dates matter. This unpublished 2026 midterms prototype uses the 2020 Census apportionment for the House index, the Senate’s Class II list for 33 regular contests, and the FEC’s 2026 election guide for Florida and Ohio unexpired-term contests. The 65 Senate holdover defaults are calculated from the current Senate roster: 53 R, 45 D, 2 independent, less 22 R and 13 D officeholders in the 35 indexed 2026 contests. They are date-stamped and editable. No RCP polling or ratings are copied into this board, and it has no automatic election-data refresh. Hypothetical choices stay in this browser session; they are not submitted or saved.
